We wanted to take the opportunity to let you know about the proper materials and process to use when disinfecting and cleaning your night vision goggle.
To disinfect, dampen a clean room cloth or soft wipe with isopropanol or isopropyl, alcohol(IPA).  Wipe the optics (eyepieces and objectives) and all surfaces of the housing, including knobs, helmet mount interfaces, etc. Let dry for 3-5 minutes. Per the CDC, IPA* is sufficient for killing bacteria and the COVID-19 virus.

Cautions:

• Do not use other cleaning solutions such as bleach, as these could damage the goggle.

• If your goggle is equipped with a Demist Shield (PN: 279199-1, 286238-1, A3144263 or A3256353), use of IPA* will remove or damage the anti-fog coating and degrade or eliminate the effectiveness of the demist shield. The two options for disinfecting this component are:
1. Clean demist shield with IPA – however doing so removes the anti-fog properties of
the demist shield and will then require the use of an anti-fog wipe (PN: 277660), Or
2. Replace the demist shield as needed

• A soft cloth or soft wipe should be used (anything more abrasive could scratch the
goggle)

• When cleaning the labels on the goggle, a very small amount of IPA* should be used to
prevent damage to the adhesive

* IPA should have a concentration of at least 70% to kill the COVID-19 virus

Clean water is sufficient and recommended for cleaning the NVG after exposure to saltwater, but
not for disinfecting.
